My WIP Is Done

 My first Amigurumi is done!

I would share a picture now, but I'll wait until after the holidays since the intended recipient hasn't gotten it yet.

I have  Yip-Yip that has been on my hook since last year that is still only in the first few rounds of creation. I am afraid though that I might have to frog it and start over. EEK!  I've also got more yarn to make at least three more, two of which are friendly commissions.  A friend asked me to make a red one and a blue one. But I had the hardest time finding the yarn for it. I finally found some last year. I have just been so unmotivated...until lately.

In the meantime, I have finish one of the Christmas baubles that I also started last year. And I have started another one. They work up pretty fast and you can find different patterns for them online.  Some are super simple and others more complex. I'm sticking with simple for now.

I don't know if I'll do the Yip-Yips right now even though I should. I'm supposed to be starting on another Amigurumi. One of the ones I want to try to make, I don't have the yarn for it yet.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Amigurumi. It was fun to make the one I did and I'd like to challenge myself to make them. But they can be so hard on my hands. I'm not a fan of single crochet or in the rounds. Maybe bigger ones are the  answer though. Guess I'll find out.

Thirteen Years Later...

It's been another hot minute or more since I've been here.

I haven't been crafting like I have wanted to for various reasons.

While I still love crocheting, and wish I could learn to knit, my
interests have also gone in other directions. Photography, art journaling,
and on again-off again writing a novel.

I had originally intended that this blog would be strictly for HP inspired
creations. I will still do projects in that vein. But I am also interested in
now in hopefully honing my skills beyond the basic stitches, not that I want
to get too crazy. I just would like to learn a few other simple stitches that
won't be too hard on my hands.

Since I've last posted here, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and
chronic pain for starters. I have some spinal issues going on too.
More recently I was diagnosed with POTS.

As I try to focus a little more often on my crafty creations, I will hopefully
be posting on here more often as well.

I should have something to post as soon as my WIP is fresh off the hook.

It's been awhile!

Wow! I had totally forgotten I had this blog. I can't believe it's been 5 years since I posted anything.

I will do my best to post here more often. I am planning to start some new projects soon. Not necessarily Harry Potter related, but we shall see...Especially with Deathly Hollows Part 1 coming out in a few months.

I did make a cloak to go along with the scarves. It was my first attempt at sewing with a machine and using a pattern. It didn't come out too terrible for a first time project.

Quidditch Sweater almost done!

Working now on the second sleeve of the sweater. I ran out of yarn and couldn't find it at any of the stores, but then Michael's had it so I bought 2 just to have more than enough to finish the sweater and make a new Hufflepuff scarf in the correct pattern.

Then this weekend I bought 8 skeins of Homespun to make my Weasley sweater. The tweeds seem to itchy for me. I was going to get a chennile or something really soft and non-arcrylic, but I could not pass up the sale price at Hobby Lobby this weekend. And I finally found 16" circular needles. They sell the ones you can change the needle size or cable length on. Now I only need to learn to cast on properly on them.

Off to finish the sweater...

Mission Accomplished

I completed the Hufflepuff scarf this morning. Tassles and all.

And for it being only my second completed project in a week, I think it looks pretty darn good and I'm proud of myself.

Now on to my Gryffindor scarf and hopefully a couple of Weasley sweaters. Or maybe Quiddich sweaters, those may be easier and it house colors too. Hmmm... we'll see.

My First Harry Potter Scarf

This is my first time blogging. So bear with me.

I finally finished my very first scarf, actually my first project ever. I started this Ravenclaw PS/SS style scarf SEVERAL months ago. Did maybe 6" or so.

Then I picked it back up last week and finished the remaining 6' 6" of it. Took almost a week to complete. My dd abosolutely loves it!

I'll post a photo as soon as I take one and figure out how to post it.

Now I am working on a Hufflepuff PoA scarf. I am almost half way done with it.
